The name of Ter Marsch & Co dates back to 1890 when it was established as an outlet for ‘Fabriek van de Verduurzaamde Vleeschwaren’ (Factory of Preserved Meats) at Witte de Withstraat 70. This is the very same spot where the business can still be found today! Several of the building’s external features have been preserved inside the premises. Let us take you back 125 years to meet the Ter Marsch family of Rotterdam.
Ter Marsch & Co Amsterdam
Founded in March 2016, Ter Marsch & Co also supplies perfectly grilled hamburgers in Amsterdam. Hamburgers which have been hailed by Esquire as being Amsterdam’s best burgers! We have been praised for our respectable burger buns, our delicious sauces, and, of course, our wonderful meat! The restaurant is located in the NH Collection Hotel Amsterdam Flower Market on Vijzelstraat.
AWARD WINNING BURGERS
Since its opening in 2014, Ter Marsch & Co’s hamburgers have attracted a lot of attention. We immediately struck lucky in the year of the restaurant’s opening when Ter Marsch & Co was presented with a media award for ‘Rotterdam’s Best Burger’.
‘THE NETHERLAND'S BEST HAMBURGER’
Following on from this fantastic distinction as standard bearer for Rotterdam, Ter Marsch & Co embarked on an adventure to compete for the coveted award of ‘The Netherlands’ Best Hamburger’. This is a national award for which contestants battle it out annually at the Horecava International Trade Fair for the Hotel & Catering Industry. For this competition, Ter Marsch & Co created the ‘Burgeresse’ with which it won first prize for ‘The Netherlands’ Best Hamburger’.
TER MARSCH & CO AT THE “WORLD FOOD CHAMPIONSHIPS” IN THE USA
As a result of winning the accolade of The Netherlands’ Best Hamburger, Ter Marsch & Co was invited to take part in the contest for the World’s Best Burger at the World Food Championships in Florida, USA, which took place in November 2015. After a very exciting race, Ter Marsch & Co was the only Dutch company to reach the final, claiming twelfth place in the world ranking.
Bakery Ter Marsch & Edwin Klaasen
The bakery, which was founded in May 2017, is owned by the group and its partner Edwin Klaasen, a famous baker in the Netherlands. The bakery produces the bread used in the Ter Marsch & Co restaurants. The aim is to produce fresh bread, as purely and fairly as possible, without unnecessary additives or E numbers.
